Ride The Slide - Reviews

Im very happy about the international reviews of Ride The Slide's latest CD "Get Up" which you can get right here: SOMATON :))

Downbeat Magazine (USA)
"Mario Vavti's trio begins each tune on Get Up with a grounding in the straightahead. But then Vavti keeps piling on new sounds and ideas overdubbing electronics to achieve music that both seems familiar and progressive."
--Jon Ross

Music Austria (A)
-- Michael Ternai

ITA-Journal (USA)
"Mix in three innovative musical forces, a dash of electronic sound wizardry, and a generous helping of unabashed musical exploration. Simmer in a finely mixed recording, and you will get nine distinctive music creations on a CD titled GET UP - RIDE THE SLIDE."
--Stan Pethel

Concerto (A)

Tomorrow we are going to play the last concert in a series of 3 with Ziga Murkos 13 piece Band at the Jazz Festival Ljubljana - Cankarjev Dom. Woyzeck & The Tiger Lillies

The rehearsals for the music theatre production "Woyzeck & The Tiger Lillies" (Vereinigte Bühnen Wien) just started. Musical director Christian Kolonovits wrote some really interesting and exciting music for brassensemble. Of course i am also looking forward to join the bizarre world of The Tiger Lillies.

Premiere will be on 24 Sep 2011 at the Museumsquartier Halle E in Vienna
